This is a photo of some of us collecting in Solihull yesterday.
We were greatly helped on this occasion by a couple of wonderful opera singers Kyla and Franz who were performing in Mell square just where we were standing.
They kindly offered to put a tin on their table and also announced on regular intervals that we were collecting for GLWR and asking people to give us their spare cash which they did!
They really made a big difference to our takings and we were so pleased of their offers of help. I have emailed the photo to them, and they are going to put it on their website, which is www.kyla-franz.com

Warminster Fun Day in the Park - One of our lovely fundraisers was interviewed for WCR fm. The interview went out worldwide at about 8.30pm that evening. She says "Yes, I managed to ramble away for 6 minutes about GLWR!" Well done Barbara for spreading the word !!

The handsome Kirby was in attendance with his new family to give a touch of elegance to the proceedings. Looking good Kirby!!

This time Charm and Brynn made a public appearance at Pets At Home in Swindon. They spent the day being admired and fussed and were on their best behaviour.
Charm was delighted to meet her old friend, Bruce who came along to lend his support along with his newly adopted family.

Beauty and Charm attended Westonbirt Dog Days, kindly allowing Nicky and Gaby to accompany them and to bask in their reflected glory.
They were very well behaved girls despite many small, furry, off lead cannonballs shooting backwards and forwards in front of them.
Beauty bumped into her old walking partner Bruce, out for the day with his foster family.

GLWR dogs Bruce (foster), Beauty (in the "I Need A Home" tabard), Daisy (adopted) and Manny (adopted).

The girls were very tired after their day out and were pleased to get back to the kennels in time for their tea.
Saturday 6th December, found some of the GLWR team and several supporters outside Pets At Home in Bristol, accompanied by a multitude of assorted hounds!
Bruce (now living it up in a home of his very own) does his best to entertain the crowds!
Even dressing up Christmassy for the occasion!
It was a cold day, so everyone wrapped up warm...
Some of the hounds got over-excited!
And for the babies, it was all too much...
Meanwhile....in another part of the UK, another group of GLWR supporters braved the cold on the same day........
and another hound brings the Christmas spirit to Christmas shoppers.

On Saturday 15th November, GLWR volunteers and their hounds rattled their tins at the passing public in The Maltings, Salisbury, Wiltshire. The hounds were all dressed up in their Santa suits and drew a lot of attention from the passers-by.

Of course, nobody worked harder that day than Rosie and Rudy.

One of our GLWR volunteers on the day said, " We had lots of really interesting and supportive people talking to us. One of them was an American/Latvian man with his Latvian dog who he has rescued and he takes this dog = a female crossbreed called Simona - all over the world with him. His family have a tiger zoo in Arizona called Tigerworld - and he was telling us about the rescue tigers they take in.

Rudy, Simona and Rosie.
GLWR would like to extend a warm thankyou to our hardworking volunteers, everyone who contributed on the day and to everyone to stopped to talk to us. And a special thankyou to Simona and her Dad.
